At the request of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, the Minister Delegate in charge of the City, Nadia HAI initiated the creation of a collection which will bring together for the first time more than 300 files devoted to personalities who have contributed to our History but have not yet all found their place in our collective memory.
Strong stories, exemplary journeys, explicit commitments. Their stories have contributed to the history of France for 230 years, from the French Revolution to the present day.
These women and men came from all over the world or were born in France. They were born French, were naturalized French or have committed
one way or another for France.
So many stories and stories from France that contribute to cultural, political, artistic, sporting, military, musical, trade union, worker or scholarly history.
All French regions are represented,
dozens of countries of origin in the world run through these biographies.
None are there by chance: they are all personalities who marked their time and our imaginations; their destinies testify that the Republic is transmission.
