1. ATTRIBUTE THE NAME OF Đỗ Hữu Vị TO A PLACE IN PARIS

PROCEDURE

1st step: the deposit and study of the vows

The wishes are tabled in the Paris Council by the political groups. These wishes are studied by the Commission for the naming of roads, green spaces and municipal public facilities, chaired by Laurence Patrice, deputy in charge of memory, of the fighting world. It also happens that the commission itself decides to carry out a public tribute project, often linked to local consultations organized in the boroughs.

The commission, made up of elected Parisians, works in conjunction with the families and relatives of the honored personalities, the district town halls, the deputies concerned and various departments of the City, such as the Department of Urban Planning, the Department of Spaces and the environment, the Directorate of Cultural Affairs and the Directorate of Youth and Sports. Personalities or entities also bring their expertise, like the history committee of the City of Paris.

Ideally, the place has a concrete relationship with the proposed personality and with his background, his biography. Knowing that few places are still available for this purpose in the capital.

This location has several advantages.

- There are no inhabitants since this location has no name to date. This avoids changing addresses, which are always a bit tricky.

- This square is located at the start of Quai Louis Blérieot. Louis Blériot, who crossed the Channel in July 1909, was the instructor of Đỗ Hữu Vị.

- Đỗ Hữu Vị piloted a Blériot XI during the war of 14-18

THIS PROJECT WAS VALIDATED BY THE NAMES ASSIGNMENT COMMISSION ON JUNE 9, 2021.

A DRAFT RESOLUTION WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE PARIS COUNCIL AT THE OCTOBER MEETING.
